TL;DR: please help us stay in business and don't share our stuff. Also, we're not evil and don't sell your information to evil people to do evil things with it.
We believe that if you treat people like criminals, they'll act like criminals. We work very hard at what we do (just like you) and we like to think it's worth what we're charging for it. If you disagree, please take a second and tell us why. You'll find we respond rather quickly and in some cases, we've dropped prices on a given video because yes, it was priced too high.
Our videos are licensed to you for individual use and viewing. We also do bulk discounts so if you have a large group, we can help. Our base discount is 20% off of 5 or more - but if you'd like to buy a lot of licenses, just let us know (support at tekpub) and we'll work a special discount for you.
If you'd like to show a video to a User Group or a dev meeting, you're allowed to do that once a week providing that your group understands this is a subscription service.
Our sales keep us going - please help us stay in business and don't share what you download. Or if you do, maybe ask the people watching to buy a license or subscription as well.
We personally guarantee that you're going to like what you see, and that you will learn from it. If you don't, we'll refund your money if you let us know within 15 days of your purchase. In the case of an annual subscription - please be aware that you're buying access to our content library, as it is, for the period of one year. We do our best to push new content as often as possible, but we won't guarantee when and how much.
Your privacy is critically important to us. At Massive we have a few fundamental principles:
Massive Studios Inc. (Massive) operates TekPub. It is Massive’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.
Like most website operators, Massive collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Massive’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Massive’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Massive may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
Massive also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Massive does not use such information to identify its visitors, however, and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information, as described below.
Certain visitors to Massive’s websites choose to interact with Massive in ways that require Massive to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Massive gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. Those who engage in transactions with Massive – by purchasing access to the a series or subscription, for example – are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, Massive collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Massive. Massive does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
Massive may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. Massive may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Massive does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
Massive discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Massive’s behalf or to provide services available at Massive’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Massive’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Massive will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Massive discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when Massive believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Massive, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of a Massive website and have supplied your email address, Massive may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Massive and our products. We primarily use our various product blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Massive takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
